SO WHAT IS BRITPOP?
Britpop is a music genre that originated from the British alternative music scenes of the 90's.
It's main inspirations came from ordinary life in Britian, and especially working class reality. Due to it's grounded nature, the genre remains a staple of modern British culture even today. However, as many bands didn't get their big break outside the UK, britpop continues to be mainly unheard of internationally.
MEET THE FACES OF BRITPOP
Arguably the beginning of britpop, Blur remains one of the most famous bands of the genre. Although only really to British audiences, as their infamous 92' US tour started a long fate of unpopularity across the pond.
Blur might've been the first but Oasis became the most famous internationally. Their more rock heavy interpretation along with more accessible themes for a wider foreign audience lead the band into music acclaim.
Now if Oasis and Blur were bothers, Suede is their gay cousin. Although some hits, the band still remained UK centred with most of it's fame coming from the much talked about love triangle between Blur's Damon Albarn, Suede's lead singer Brett Anderson, and Elastica's Justine Frischmann.

Pulp as a band lies somewhere between Blur and Suede. It's artsy and eccentric look, headed by it's lead singer Jarvis Cocker, is paired by an anti-elitist and, other times downright bizzare, theming. This together helps to make Pulp a staple in British culture.
Elastica remains one of only two well known female led britpop groups. An original founder of Suede, elastica's lead singer Justine Frischmann turned to a more raw and angry sound in her second band.
Lush being the second of the pair, the band is lead by singer Miki Berenyi. Although less well known, even in Britain, Lush still produced some banger hits generated from personal experiences of girlhood in Britian - much like elastica.
A little vid if you have the time :)
